Care:   The general rule of thumb for watering orchids grown in the home is every 5 to 12 days, depending on the type of orchid, and the time of year. During the warm summer months when days are long, more frequent watering is required than in the cooler, shorter days of winter.  This is one way of watering.  Fill the pot full of water, let it sit for approximately 10 min to allow the chips to soak up the water, then drain the excess water until no excess water is left in the bottom of the pot.  You may have to drain the water several times before all the excess water is shed.
